2009 Year in Review

NMSS Red and Green Holiday Party

Wednesday, 12/2 at Hamilton's Bar and Grill, 233 Second Street, NW.  Around 200 NMSS Members attended the annual holiday party.  Members dined on NM themed food including green chile and NM's Gruet wine.  Members, including a matching contribution from PNM Resources, contributed toys for Toys for Tots and $1,910 to the Salvation Army's Southeastern NM Food bank. 

NMSS Tour of Mount Vernon

Saturday, November 21, Members toured Mount Vernon, which included a special National Treasures tour, lunch, and transportation.

NMSS Happy Hour

On Friday, October 16, the NMSS held a happy hour at Tortilla Coast. 

Baseball

The NMSS watched (although rain was problematic) the Washington Nationals play baseball on August 22, 2009.

Kickball - New Mexico Zias

The NMSS, along with NMSU and UNM Alum, proudly represented the Land of Enchantment on the National Mall.  

Rafting with Alabama

The New Mexico State Society, NMSU Alumni, Alabama State Society and Alumni rafted down the Potomac River in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, on July 18.

Mountain West State Societies

Philanthropic Happy Hour Raises $2,000 for DC-based charity

The New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada State Societies joined together June 5 for a fun-filled happy hour to support Horton's Kids.  

Over 90 State Society members contributed to the $1,000 raised at the event.  PNM Resources' foundation matched those contributions, making the total funds raised to $2,000!
